No Timeline
Sometimes, all I have to do is look at something once and I can see exactly what I will do. Other times, it takes days, weeks, months, even years before something sparks and I know what I need to do for a piece of art. The best way for me to see and understand what the piece of wood wants or needs in order to be created is to toss words, designs and ideas around. I’ve always loved the idea of collaboration in those circumstances, and this is where that can happen. There are two reasons behind the Coming Soon section.
First and Foremost
If I’m struggling with what I want to do for the piece of wood or any other medium, I’m going to post them in this section of my website. Sometimes all it takes for a piece of art to come to life is for someone else to say something and the spark will ignite an inferno of creation. Don’t hold back if you have an idea!
What Do You See?
Inspired by the more theoretical part of myself, this is for the interpretation and understanding of the universal language of art. There will be pieces here that I know exactly what I’m going to do with, but I still want to know what someone else sees or feels when they look at a blank canvas. I want to inspire the realization and understanding that art and interpretation truly is unique to the one looking and listening.
Someone will see a waterfall where someone else sees an ocean. One person will imagine a snow-capped mountain where another imagines the wings of an eagle spread in flight. I hope not to influence someone’s vision, but to expand it to recognize that what you see, might not always be what someone else sees and that, right there, is the point of art. That’s what makes art the most universal language in the world. We can all interpret the same thing differently, but still understand it.
Collaboration Anyone?
Please feel free to contact me if you see a piece of wood that connects to your soul. I would love nothing more than the chance to personally build and create something that speaks solely to you, in your own language. Whether you have an exact design in mind or if you simply want to offer a few words of inspiration for your specific piece of wood, let me know! I’m open to any form of collaboration to help you get what spoke to your soul!
