My artistic journey began with digital art. If you read my About section, you are aware that I went to college for digital photography. That’s where my love and confidence began.
I spent about two years there refusing to use Photoshop to edit my images because I wanted to learn how to do it all in camera. I mean all of it. If I wanted a light effect, I figured out how to do it without post editing. If I wanted a figure to have wings, I attached them on the model instead of pasting them in when editing. Oftentimes I would figure out how to hide a chair or stand with foliage or the model instead of taking it out in Photoshop. You get my drift.
One particular professor encouraged me to expand my knowledge and explore the worlds that Photoshop could help me portray. Let me tell you, it was one of the best things to come into my life!
Take Life By the Horns
I’m a huge advocate of taking things you fear or are nervous about and overcoming the emotion(s) that latch onto you from a result of those fears. Each piece of my digital art is something that I have experienced. Like all experiences, some are light and happy while others are full of shadows and terror. Sometimes it’s innocence that I latch onto. Other times it’s the loss of innocence.
The digital art pieces portray a full array of the emotions. Fears, a moment in a nightmare that stuck with me, a memory, a dream I hope to one day achieve, a reflection; everything that I have experienced and can put into art.
Are you ready to dive in and see memories coming to life?
